Action-Packed, Fun Weekend Ahead

It has been a while since my last blog post... and soooo much is going on!  This past weekend was filled with fun times at Artrageous, the Nags Head Elementary School Pumpkin Festival and the 2nd Annual Walk for Addiction.  It's a sign of fall... lots of weekend events for the whole family.  The weather has been absolutely PERFECT over the past few days, and it's forecasted to stay beautiful through this coming weekend.  And what a weekend it will be!  If you haven't already made plans to be on the Outer Banks this weekend, it's not too late.  You're not going to want to miss all of the exciting goings on!  Here's a sampling of the upcoming Columbus Day weekend:

Thursday:  The "Pre Duck Jazz Festival" at Scarborough Faire.  Wander through the quaint shops of Scarborough Faire while enjoying the sounds of local singer Mojo Collins and his band Triple Vision.

Friday: Head over to Manteo for "First Friday", a monthly party in downtown Manteo from 4PM - 8PM with live music, shops and restaurants open late, historical characters in full costume, a rock-climbing wall and more.

Saturday & Sunday: At the Wright Brothers Memorial all weekend you'll want to check out the Annual Stunt Kite Competition.  From kite ballets set to music to hands-on kite making for kids, there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Sunday: The highlight of the weekend is the Fifth Annual Duck Jazz Festival.  Starting at 11AM at the Duck Town Park, this FREE festival features nationally known jazz artists.  Bring a blanket and a cooler... you'll want to stay all day and enjoy the music!

Monday, and all week: Monday kicks off the Roanoke Colonies Archeology and History Week.  History buffs won't want to miss the nightly lectures at College of the Albemarle from esteemed historians and archeologists.
