Beach Portraits
This summer my husband's extended family vacationed on the Outer Banks, and we decided to hire a local professional photographer to take beach pictures of the whole gang. We'd never had family photos professionally taken of the whole group, and their summer vacation was the only time we'd all be together for at least the next year or so. We hired Chelle Shots, a local photographer named Michelle Conner, who had taken photos of my immediate family before. We picked a nice, clear evening, all dressed in shades of blue and walked down to the beach with our photographer. Each individual family posed for shots in front of the surf, and we did a few large family photos standing by the dunes.
In the end, we had a ton of wonderful photos... many of them Christmas-card worthy. Year after year of visiting us on the Outer Banks, and this was the very first time we decided to have beach portraits professionally taken. And splitting the cost between several families made it affordable for everyone.
Whether it's for a Christmas card, an engagement photo or just for a great family photo to hang on the wall, I highly recommend hiring a photographer to capture the moment. I know it's something we'll do again when our family visits next year for sure!
