JOIN the FUN!: Watch the Outer Banks Daredevils Play Ball
One of the highlights of my three-year-old son's summer was the night he went to watch the Outer Banks Daredevils play baseball at the First Flight High School Baseball Complex. While he's still a bit young to actually watch the whole game, he got a big kick out of "Homer", the team mascot, sharing a hot dog with dad and hanging out with the other kids by the bleachers. But best of all, he was chosen to throw out the first pitch of the game! In all honesty, my husband (who knows the team owner and manager) was asked to throw out the first pitch. Sam went to the pitcher's mound with his daddy and watched him throw a fastball. Then he ran to the catcher and said, "Can I do it, too?" They were sweet enough to grant his request, and he tossed the ball as far as he could. He even got to keep the ball!
