New Shipwreck Found in Hatteras
In exciting local news: This morning I was reading The Virginian-Pilot and learned of a shipwreck discovered in Hatteras just last week by locals Matthew Farkas and Scott Dawson. The 20-foot vessel was found only 100 feet from the former site of Fort Hatteras, leading some to speculate that it could be a Civil War related boat. Other theories are that it was a post WW II ferry used to transport people to and from Ocracoke or that it was a vessel used for dredging.
