Offshore Drilling Banned Until 2017!

Good news for everyone who loves clean beaches and unfettered views of the Atlantic (and who doesn't?)!  Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced the Obama administration's plan to keep the beaches of the United States free of another oil disaster by banning offshore drilling in the Atlantic, Pacific and Eastern Gulf of Mexico.  The ban should go into effect within the next few months, and environmentalists--who've spent months campaigning--couldn't be happier.  The ban brings those in the local tourism industry peace of mind, knowing that we can avoid the same fate as the Gulf Coast.  Vacationers and those who love our beautiful beaches can also breathe easier now that the ban is in effect.
