Outer Banks Loses a Legend, Steve the Dream

The Outer Banks suffered a great loss on Sunday with the passing of Steve "Steve the Dream" Thomas.  In recent years, many had come to know Steve as the pirate Pamlico Jack, featured on commercials and as a presence in the Nags Head restaurant Pamlico Jack's.  He was also a well-known disc jockey, musician and model in his earlier days.  And, most importantly, Steve was a father.  Steve died in a surfing accident on Sunday afternoon, and the Outer Banks community is mourning his loss.

What a guy, what a friend. Living his life one day at a time, to the fullest, this is what Steve showed and shared with friends like me. Enjoying his phones calls and his family with me,via long distance, I traveled life with him. Steve "The Dream" my friend, you are missed, but we'll see you at the "Big Meeting", someday. My thoughts are now with your family. RIP, my friend, Ken Hardegree, Port Charlotte, Fl.
