Halloween on the Outer Banks
Halloween is right around the corner... do you have your costume ready? There's plenty of fun stuff going on this year, both for the adults and the kiddos. For a real scream-fest, check out Quarantine Island in Manteo. The Lost Colony hosts this frightful haunted house with the warning: "Come find out what's been causing the dead to rise and the local population to mutate... if you dare!" From 7:30PM - 10PM October 28-30. Not recommended for children under 10, and those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
Have an evening of family-friendly Halloween fun at this year's Trick or Treat Under the Sea at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island on Thursday, October 28. The little ones will enjoy the games, activities, costume contests and--of course--the candy. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and this event typically sells out.
For adults-only fun, Kelly's Outer Banks Tavern and the Outer Banks Brewing Station are among some of the local bars and restaurants that feature live bands and costume contests with hundreds in prizes on Halloween night.
