The Outer Banks Triathlon - This September!
During this sweltering heat wave, I daydream of September on the Outer Banks and its crisp blue skies, temperatures in the oh-so-pleasant 70s and wide, uncrowded beaches. I've said it before and I'll say it again: September is the best month to visit the Outer Banks. You get all the warmth and sunshine of the summer, minus the crowds and humidity. What could be better?
Now there's one more reason to visit in September: the Outer Banks Triathlon Festival. Held over the weekend of September 18-19, the Triathlon is suited to athletes of all skill levels, offering a Half-Distance Triathlon, an Olympic Distance Triathlon, and a Sprint Distance Triathlon. Following the race, participants will enjoy a live band, food and a post-race Pirate Jamboree. For more information or to pre-register, visit obxtriathlon.org.
