Gorgeous Beach Day in Nags Head

What a fantabulous day it's been on the Outer Banks!  I spent the early part of the day at the beach in Nags Head, and it was gorgeous.  The water was just about as blue and clear as I've ever seen it here.  Sam hunted for shells--he likes to find them, yell, "Look, Mommy!  A big, huge shell!", and then throw them back in.   (Right now we're going through a phase where everything he describes is either "big", "huge" or both.)  We also made a drip sand castle at the water's edge.  For anyone who hasn't made a drip castle, it's the easy way to make a sand castle without using a bucket and pail (both of which I forgot).  The breeze was nice, but I still slathered on the sunscreen.  Now that I'm in my mid-thirties, the days of getting a tan are long gone.  I'm anti-wrinkles and sun-spots now!  We brought sandwiches from Stop-N-Shop (if you haven't been, it's on the Beach Road in KDH... great sandwiches for beach days).  I had a blast, and so did Sam... we almost didn't make it home before his eyes began to droop at naptime.  Hello, summertime!
