21st Festival of Trees

The holiday season is upon us once again, and our local Christmas activities are in full swing!  One of the great December traditions here on the Outer Banks is the Annual Festival of Trees.  This is the 21st year for this fun and fabulous event that raises money for Hotline, a local shelter that aids victims of sexual and domestic violence.  All events this year are at The Pearl Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills (inside the Sea Ranch Hotel).  The main thrust of the four day event that runs from December 3 - December 6, is the tree auction.  Trees, decorated by local businesses with beautiful ornaments, prizes and goods, are auctioned off to the highest bidder.  The popular Holiday Social is tomorrow night at 6:30PM, followed by the Benefit Auction at 8PM.

I've attended the Festival of Trees Holiday Social and Benefit Raffle for years and years now, but regretfully will not be able to attend the one tomorrow night.  Instead, I've made reservations for the Pearl Restaurant to have "Brunch with Santa" on Sunday morning with my family.  My son Sam is just starting to understand Christmas, and is beyond excited to meet Santa up close and in person!  I'm looking forward to snapping some cute pics of my little boy with Santa.  There's still space available at brunch, if anyone's interested.  Call 252-480-3463 to make your reservations.
