No More Texting and Driving

Beginning today, December 1, 2009, a new law banning drivers from texting while driving in North Carolina goes into effect.  Violators will be fined $100 for typing or reading text messages while driving a motor vehicle.  The law, according to backer Rep. Garland Pierce, is designed to cut down on accidents that occur while drivers are distracted.  He hopes that eventually the law will expand to cover holding phones while driving.  North Carolina is not the first state to enact such a ban; 19 others and the District of Columbia have all outlawed texting while driving.

I hope they inforce it. WE have the same law in my state and is not legal to talk on your cell without a headset while driving but is almost never inforced.
