Proposed Dog Park in Kitty Hawk
Bringing Fido on vacation? By next summer you just might be able to take him to Dare County's first Dog Park. According to today's North Carolina section of The Virginian-Pilot newspaper, Kitty Hawk is getting serious about creating a dog park on Kitty Hawk Road on a parcel of land near the fire station. Tim White, Dare County's public services director, said that the proposed park would include a dog park, an 1800-foot walking trail, a boardwalk, benches, picnic area and skate park. Down the road, the park may eventually even include an indoor pool, basketball court, playground and tennis court. According to the article, if the permitting process goes smoothly, the park may be completed before summer 2010. Which is food news for dog lovers and their four-legged friends!
