No More Plastic Bags – The OBX is Going Green!

Another big change for the Outer Banks—and one that promisesto be good for the environment—is the plastic bag ban.  As of September 1, many retailers will be nolonger be able to use plastic bags.  Thelaw applies to larger retail stores and chains, and in the place of plastic theywill offer recycled paper bags or you can buy or bring in your own reusablebags.  We will be the first community onthe East Coast to enact such a ban.  Doyour part for the environment and bring your own reusable bags from home to bagyour groceries, take home souvenirs, etc.
