Delicious Dinner and Dancing Under the Stars

One of my all time favorite restaurants--and one I don't get to visit very often because it's in Corolla--is Mike Dianna's Grill Room.  Now to be totally candid, the owner's wife is my very best friend and has been for nearly 15 years.  We moved to the Outer Banks together back in the summer of '95, and she's had her hand in the food-service industry ever since.  Both she and her husband have held down nearly every restaurant position possible in their time on the Outer Banks, from chef to bartender to hostess to busser, and I think that is a big part of why their restaurant is successful and such a great place to dine.

That being said, on Friday Adam and I took the drive north to the Grill Room to feast on steaks, softshells and fine wines with our friends.  After an incredible meal, we headed outside for live music and cocktails on the deck.  The weather was perfect, the music was rockin' and the crowd was singing.  Band members passed out tambourines, cymbals, a triangle and maracas so that the audience could play along.  We stayed until nearly 2am, dancing the night away under the stars.  We had a blast and vowed to return again after Labor Day.  What fun!
