Dare County Beaches Rank Among the Best for Water Quality

Yet another reason to visit the beautiful Outer Banks beaches...

In a nationwide study on water quality done by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Dare County's beaches were ranked among the best in the nation for water quality.  The NRDC tested 200 popular swimming spots and judged them on current water quality, water quality over the last three years, water quality testing frequency and whether or not they posted advisories promptly.  According to the Charlotte Observer, Dare's beaches tied for the fourth highest ranking, alongside Georgia.  For a detailed list of the beaches tested and more information on the study, visit  http://www.nrdc.org/water/oceans/ttw/200beaches.asp .
