American Heroes at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station
Thursday, August 6, is American Heroes Day at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station in Rodanthe. The event will feature a Coast Guard search and rescue demonstration, a military fly-over, a beach apparatus drill, an Ocean Rescue jet ski launch and demonstration, and a live performance from singer-songwriter John Golden. While you're there, take a tour of the station and listen to amazing rescue stories that happened right here off the coast of the Outer Banks. Throughout the day there will be personnel, demonstrations and equipment from the military, police and fire departments, emergency services, and much more.
