Currituck Wine & Jazz Fest
Those oenophiles visiting the OBX this month might be interested in visiting our closest winery, Sanctuary Vineyard in Jarvisburg (a few miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge). The tasting room of this local winery is located in the Cotton Gin, and offers complimentary tastings on weekends. On Sunday, May 31, they're hosting The Currituck Jazz and Wine Fest, sponsored by The Currituck Arts Council. Three local vineyards will be featured, and Sanctuary Vineyard will be releasing their 2007 Syrah and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. From noon to 7 PM, enjoy live jazz, pit BBQ, fresh seafood, locally grown veggies and art from local artisans. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and the price includes a commemorative wine glass, a 6-bottle tote bag, wine tastings and free tours of the vineyard and winery.
