Top Ten FREE Things To Do on the OBX - #1
Now more than ever with our economy, people are looking for bargains, deals, discounts... anything to save a little dough. I'm no different. I love finding sales, and I'm not ashamed to admit I cut coupons. Everything adds up over time, so pinching pennies here and there doesn't make me cheap, it makes me frugal! And I know I'm not alone on this... that's why I'm going to blog about the Top 10 FREE Things To Do on the Outer Banks over the course of the next month or so. Hopefully you'll enjoy these activities as much as I do; I know your wallet will!
#1 - Take the Kids to the Park
Need a break from the beach? There are a number of local parks for the kiddies to enjoy. My favorite is the Rec Park in Kill Devil Hills. Located behind the Outer Banks Brewing Station around MP 8ish, the Rec Park is a great place to bring children big and small. I took Sam there this past weekend, as I often do, and he's getting big enough to enjoy the slides. There are several swing sets, jungle-gyms, bumpy slides, smooth slides and spiral slides. There are a few old live oaks around the park that give plenty of shade and are fun for climbing. The park is flanked on two sides by various fields for soccer, baseball and more. Pack a picnic lunch and eat it under the shelter. A day at the park costs nothing... and your kids will have a blast!
