FREE Kiteboarding Group Lecture Classes
I've done a lot of adventurous things here on the Outer Banks... I've surfed (okay, only once... but I did stand up!), I've hang glided off Jockey's Ridge, I've parasailed on the Sound and I've even been towed in a hang glider behind an ultra-light airplane in Currituck. But I have never, ever kiteboarded. A good friend of mine is quite the enthusiast; he's bought every kiteboarding gizmo and gadget available and traveled as far as Hawaii to pursue his sport. He swears that if Adam or I ever try it, we'll be instantly hooked. I guess if we do love it, we couldn't be in a more perfect spot to take up this thrilling sport. Thousands make the trek here annually to kiteboard in our waters. The Sound is a great spot for beginner and intermediate kiteboarders. Advanced kiteboarders can try their hand in the waves of the Atlantic. If you're interested in learning, both Kitty Hawk Kites and REAL Kiteboarding offer classes for varying skill levels. Learn from professionals in the sport on how to improve your technique and become a better kiteboarder at the group lecture classes at REAL Kiteboarding in Hatteras. Classes will be held every Tuesday night at 6pm from March 24 throughout the summer. For more information, call 866-REAL-KITE or visit realkiteboarding.com.
