Taste of the Beach 2009

The Outer Banks' favorite foodie festival, Taste of the Beach 2009, is this weekend!  For four mouth-watering, wine-swilling, belt-loosening days, restaurants from up and down the beach will join forces for this all-out eating extravaganza.  Whatever your pleasure--be it oyster-slurping, spa-pampering, or wine tasting--or whatever your interest--be it Carolina cooking, beer brewing, or even hot-dog making--there's a Taste of the Beach event perfectly suited for you.  I can't even begin to list all of the events here... you'll have to check out www.obxtasteofthebeach.com for that.  I will say that the weekend looks absolutely packed with awesome activities.  I'm planning on attending the OBX Chowder Cook-Off on Saturday, in the Southern Shores Marketplace.  I went last year, and ate more than my fair share of chowder.  This is definitely a family-friendly event, so bring out the kiddies.  There are plenty of adults-only events, too, like the International Wine Expo and Tasting at Native Vine/Big City Wine in Point Harbor (right across the bridge) or the "Cross Town Crawl" from Ocean Boulevard to Renditions to The Pearl.  Space to some events is limited, so purchase tickets ahead of time online at the Taste of the Beach website.  Bon appetit!
