Coming Back to Life
It's the tail end of January, and even though it might not be visible to the naked eye, there's a buzz in the air. Every year around this time, restaurants and shops begin to wake up from their long winter's naps. Not that they're all open; many won't be ready for business until March or even April. But now is when they begin buzzing about, getting ready for the summer. Store owners are updating their wares; restaurants are renovating--all prepping for the big season. There are a few exciting changes in store for returning OBX visitors... Mulligan's in Nags Head is adding a big deck around the second story of their building so that customers can view the ocean AND catch the sunset over Jockey's Ridge. There are rumors and rumblings about a possible new paintball facility in Nags Head. Captain George's Restuarant, a buffet-style eatery, is under construction in Kill Devil Hills. And Dirty Dick's Crabhouse is moving from its Kill Devil Hills location to a bigger spot in Nags Head. So don't believe all the hype in the newspaper--the Outer Banks is still going strong and is gearing up for the summer!
