Frank Stick Memorial Art Show

For a chance to see the works of talented local artists on display, stop by the Frank Stick Memorial Art Show at Glenn Eure's Ghost Fleet Gallery in Nags Head this Sunday, January 25th.  Watercolors, oils, pottery, textiles, drawings and more by local artisans will be part of the show.  The event is named after Frank Stick, a local artist who rose to fame in the early twentieth century. He is best known for his illustration work in magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post, The Ladies' Home Journal and Collier's.  He enjoyed painting Outer Banks scenery, and was instrumental in helping Cape Hatteras become established as a America's first National Seashore.  The show will run at the gallery until February 20th. The public is invited to the opening reception this Saturday night, from 7 pm to 9 pm.  For more information, visit www.darearts.org and look under "Annual Events".
