Lace up your tennis shoes... it's time again for the annual OBX Marathon!  This Sunday, starting at 7:20am in Kitty Hawk, runners will begin their 26 mile race to the finish line in Manteo.  The route takes runners down scenic Bay Drive, past the historic Wright Brothers Monument, through Nags Head Woods, past Jockey's Ridge and over the Washington-Baum Bridge to finish in Manteo.  The Kelly Hospitality Group Fun Run and the Gateway Bank Half Marathon are also this weekend.  As of this blog entry, there are nearly 5,000 runners signed up to compete in these three races!  I personally will not be running in any of these races (I only run when chased!), but I admire athletes with the stamina and the fortitude to run for the sheer joy of running.  For more information, visit www.obxmarathon.com.
