First Chilly Fall Day
Even though it's officially been fall for a few weeks, you'd never know it by the sunbathers on the beach or by the flip flops on everyone's feet. But this morning, for the first time this season, it was finally chilly enough to turn the fireplace on! Now I know I might be jumping the gun just a tad--it's expected to warm up tomorrow--but I just love the first drop in temperature of the season. For my husband, fall signals the start of rockfish season, football games and oyster roasts. And for me it means bundling up for morning walks on the beach and sitting by the fireplace in the evening. For both of us, it's a chance to enjoy the calm on the Outer Banks after the busy summer season, and we relish it.
