If you're planning a visit to the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills during your stay on the Outer Banks, you'll want to visit on August 19th which is National Aviation Day.  Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed the day as such in 1939.  Its also Orville Wright's birthday.  Special events are held all day from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. including special talks and demonstrations.  Hope to see you there!
