One of the most festive events in Manteo is the New World Festival of the Arts held each year in August.  This year's show takes place August 13 and 14.  10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. 

Artists and craftsmen come from up and down the east coast (as well as locally) to display an eclectic array of wares in booths set up in the downtown area.  It's a great way to spend the day, as well as get a jump start on some Christmas shopping! 

A shuttle bus will be running throughout the day between College of the Albemarle, Roanoke Island Campus (the former Manteo Middle School) and downtown Manteo, so you don't have to worry about traffic or parking!
