The wide open spaces and ever blowing breezes make the Outer Banks a perfect place to fly a kite.  Beautiful colorful kites of all shapes and sizes can be seen flying in the Carolina blue sky at all times of the year.  In addition to the beach, Jockey's Ridge State Park is also a great place to fly them.

Remember, never leave a kite unattended or fly them at night.  If the wind drops off your kite can end up as debris in the ocean and the line can entangle birds and wildlife.
