Kayaking has become a popular activity on the Outer Banks, and it's easy to see why.  There are lots of great areas to launch a kayak and explore some of the lesser seen places.  Ramps are located at Currituck Heritage Park in Corolla, Sandy Run Park in Kitty Hawk, Duck Municipal Park, Dock Street in Kill Devil Hills and downtown Manteo to name a few.  There are also 15 miles of trails at the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.

Kayakers can slow down and take in the natural beauty of the Outer Banks.  It's a great way to view the area's spectacular wildlife.  The more adventurous can take a try at ocean kayaking.  There are several companies that rent kayaks of all kinds and many outfitters that can take you on a tour.  See why the Outer Banks have become a paddlers paradise!
