Second Annual Rip Current Awareness Day

The Second Annual Rip Current Awareness Day will take place Wednesday June 25th at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site.  Come and learn about rip currents and what to do to stay safe in case you ever find yourself in one.  This year's event will feature workshops about rescues, rip currents, kite making and  body boarding.  Outer Banks Bluesman Mojo Collins will provide musical entertainment.

Rip Current Awareness Day is a much needed addition on the Outer Banks.  We are grateful for the Eena Project for organizing it again this year.  During certain tides and conditions, rip currents can be found along the Outer Banks.  To learn more about rip currents, ocean safety and the Eena Project click here.
