Easter on the Outer Banks
The Outer Banks have been abuzz lately as shops and restaurants prepare to open in time for Easter. You'll see a new deck here and a fresh coat of paint there, and signs that proudly display "Opening Mid-March."
Of course churches are busy preparing for Holy Week services. Do call your favorite place of worship for Easter service schedules.
Here are some other events going on for Easter:
Friday March 21 and Monday March 24
Festivities are scheduled at Currituck Heritage Park in Corolla. Enjoy a duck pond and bunny petting zoo, jelly bean counting contest, rock climbing, Magic Mike the clown, bake sale, popcorn snow cones and more! Events both days 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Saturday March 22
Town of Nags Head Police Division's 15th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Nags Head Town Park, 415 Health Center Drive (turn west at Ace Hardware). There will be hunts for two age groups 0-5 and 6-10. Bring your own basket.
McGruff the Crime dog will be there, along with police and fire personnel will be there too and will show off their equipment. Child safety seat inspections will be performed. This all gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
Kitty Hawk Kites will also hold an Easter Egg Hunt from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The event includes children's games and an appearance by the Easter Bunny.
The Easter Bunny also puts in an appearance at Elizabethan Gardens for their festivities which include an egg roll, bake sale, children's crafts and games. Kids free with an paying adult. 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
