Pea Island Lifesavers featured in presentation at Aquarium
James Charlet and Linda Molloy of the Chicamacomico Life-saving Station Historic Site will give a presentation about the Pea Island Lifesavers and the US Lifesaving Service Thursday February 7th at 1:00 p.m. at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
Learn of the heroic deeds performed by the surfmen whose job it was to protect the lives of sailors and seamen. View paintings representative of the rescues performed by the all-black crew of the Pea Island Station. February is Black History Month.
