National Park Service Series "Know Your Parks" continues
The Know your Parks series sponsored by the National Park Service continues for its second season. Dr. Steve Ross will give a presentation Revealing the Deep: North Carolina's Deep Ocean Habitat this Wednesday January 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fessenden Center in Buxton.
Dr. Ross is a North Carolina native and earned a BS at Duke, a Masters at UNC Chapel Hill, and his PhD at NC State. For 13 years he served as the research coordinator for the North Carolina Coastal Reserve Program and is currently adjunct faculty at UNCW and NC State.
His current work focuses on studying deep-water habitats off the southeastern US and analyzing fish communities and their interaction with the various habitats.
Additional Know Your Park programs are scheduled for later this year.
