Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education

Winter is a great time to check out the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. The facility opened its doors in 2006 and is quickly becoming a "must do" on the Outer Banks. The Center interprets the natural history and heritage of the region through intriguing exhibits and educational programming.  Best of all, admission is free.

Learn about the Atlantic Flyway, the waterfowl history of the Currituck Sound and the hunt clubs of the area.
Enjoy the extensive collection of locally carved decoys. Children especially like watching bass, bluegill and catfish swimming in the 8000-gallon freshwater aquarium and can test their knowledge with the interactive “Identify the Fish” game.

The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education is located at the Currituck Heritage Park in Corolla.  The Center is open from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily except holidays.  Call 252-453-0221 for more information or to register for a program.
