Fireworks banned in Nags Head

At their January 9th meeting, the Nags Head Board of Commissioners voted to ban fireworks in that town.  The new law goes into effect immediately.  This law strengthens existing North Carolina laws already in place.  Now, in addition to self-propelled fireworks and those that leave the ground, all fireworks including sparklers are banned.  Fireworks are also illegal in the Town of Duck.

When planning your Outer Banks vacation, please respect the laws of your host town.  Those found in violation of the ordinance will be issued a state citation (which requires a court appearance) and fined up to $500.00.
