March 17 -  Patchwork- The Little House Quilts of Laura Ingalls Wilder 

The Film Theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park.  Born in 1868, Laura traveled across America's rolling plains, all the while creating patchwork quilts that related the same adventures that would later inspire her time-honored books. March 24 - 25 - Wanchese, The Musical

March 24 at 8 p.m. and March 25 at 2 p.m. Film Theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park. Wanchese-The Musical, an original musical-comedy written and directed by local talents Giggi Webster and Tom Filkins, is a light-hearted romp through Wanchese fishing village in the 1920's before the Outer Banks was a tourist mecca and before bridges connected the Outer Banks and Roanoke Island to the mainland.  All members of Center Front Theater Troupe are at least 55 years of age and most of the players are first time performers. Nonetheless, expect a slick, well-paced show with bright comedy and enjoyable musical interludes. Tickets for both performances are $10.00 For more information call (252) 475-1500.

March 25  - Taste of the Beach

6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Kelly's Restaurant. Presented by the Dare County Restaurant Association. Come and experience local cuisine from Outer Banks restaurants. Cost: $40.00 per person. For more information, visit www.outerbanksra.org

March 25 The Concert Chorale - Spring Concert First Flight High School.

The Concert Chorale of the Outer Banks is a volunteer, non-profit organization of experienced singers, professional musician and founder-conductor, Forest Warren, and an experienced accompanist, David Spangler, which offers residents and visitors an opportunity to hear the finest choral music. March 26 - 31 8th Annual Kite Week

All over the Outer Banks! Join in the fun of kiting. Learn the science behind flying kites, the art behind flying, and enjoy the fun for the whole family. March 31 - April 1 Kitty Hawk Kites Fly Into Spring

Jockey's Ridge State Park & Jockey's Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head. Come and start off the kiting season right. We will have informal, free kite flying lessons, including a mass ascension, and lots of games, demos, and free kite making for the kids. This is a fun fly for all ages!
